We use that scan data to plan crowns, veneers, splints, aligners and implants. Because the data is digital immediately, treatment takes fewer appointments.

Frequently asked questions
- Is a digital impression as accurate as a conventional one?
- Yes. For crowns, partial crowns, veneers and splints modern intraoral scanners are at least as accurate, without the material distortion of paste.
- Does scanning hurt?
- No. The scanner only touches the teeth lightly and nothing is injected or pressed in. It usually works well even with a strong gag reflex.
- How long does it take?
- A few minutes for a single tooth, usually under ten minutes for both jaws including bite registration.
- Is it covered by insurance?
- The impression is part of the treatment. What your insurer covers depends on the planned restoration – we always provide a transparent cost plan first.
